He has a Master´s in theological studies from Duke Divinity School and a Ph.D. in theological ethics from Duke University. He wrote his dissertation A Nonviolent Augustinianism?: History and Politics in the Theologies of St. Augustine and John Howard Yoder, under the direction of Stanley Hauerwas. Since 2006, he has worked as editor for new books in theology and ethics at Wipf and Stock Publishers in Eugene, Oregon. He lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, Rev. Erin Martin (United Methodist Church) and their two sons, Elijah and Rowan.
